Compound :: Commodores Challenge :: Rescue Duty

Many thanks to those who came down to the club on Saturday and helped tidy the place up.

We collected about 50 - 60 TYRES from all corners of the compound (no tyres were taken from under boats which were resting on them). We need to dispose of these and the tip will only allow disposal of 5 at a time. So we need a dozen members to do a tip run with tyres. PLEASE HELP. At the same time if you want to keep some take them off the stack.

There are also several LAUNCHING TROLLEYS (probably Dart 15, maybe 18) which do not appear to be in use - 2 near the racks behind the hut and one down the end by the kiosk. If these belong to you MOVE THEM INTO YOUR BOAT SPACE or remove them before they are disposed of.

Racing - Commodore's Challenge

With winds of 20+ knots on Sunday there were only a couple of boats prepared to race so the race was cancelled.

Next weekend (13/14 August) there are very short tides so sailing will be possible all day. The Commodore proposes to have an informal Commodore's Challenge race on the Saturday around 10:30 (weather permitting).

Rescue Duty

I have a couple of duties which need to be filled on 28 August and 25 September. If anyone can help out with these please let me know. Maybe if you have had a let off from your duty due to bad weather you could take one of these on.

Finally ...

- our planning application has been submitted. We will let you know when it is listed on the Arun planning web site.

See you on the water next weekend,

Ian Finlayson
