The club was founded back in 1972 after participants at a sailing course begged to be able to sail some more.

The ODC is a sailing club for those who enjoy sailing their small boats from the shore. We pride ourselves on a relaxed, friendly family atmosphere and although we organise a busy racing schedule and an annual regatta weekend, the most important thing for all of us is to have fun sailing our boats. They range from Toppers to 20 foot performance catamarans.

The Dinghy Club Must Move

Our lease of the present site is being terminated at the end of the year. So we have been searching the local coastline for a new venue.

There are no available spaces between Worthing and Littlehampton other than on the shingle.

After consultation with Arun District Council we are seeking planning permission for a compound East of the beach huts at the end of South Strand.

You can view our application on Arun's web site here: by entering K/25/16/PL as the Referece.

Whilst on the Arun web site you can also submit your comments in suport of (or against) our application.

We have also issued a flyer in the local area giving some detail and addressing concerns of local people. You can see a web version here: ODC2.pdf
